Which government
system is Christian?
High Tower of
Discernment
Who is a Christian?
Questions of this eternal importance can only be answered by the Holy Scriptures. Many
think all that they have to do is go to Church or just say the word
"Christian" (or a "Jew") as if that makes them one.
Please be wiser
than a fool- do not reject Christ Jesus, Yeshua because of the poor examples you
may see who profess to be "Christians" ...some are plainly
not Christians while others are a work in progress under grace; they may be
battling evil spirits in their minds causing them to be weak in the flesh, and, as a result, fall into temptation in unacceptable
behavior. Christians will humble themselves and ask for
forgiveness under such circumstances. Jesus makes clear,
even so, to learn from Him and to keep your eyes
fixed on Him! Jesus makes people holy through repentance of
sin.
Consider carefully
what is written:
"No good tree bears bad fruit, not does a bad tree bear good fruit.
Each tree is recognized by its own fruit. People do not pick figs from thornbushes, or grapes from briers. The good man
brings good things out of the good stored up in his heart, and the evil man
brings evil things out of the evil stored up in his heart. For out of the
overflow of his heart his mouth speaks." -Luke 6:43-45
Jesus: "Yet a time is coming and has now
come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for
they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks. God is spirit and his
worshipers must worship in spirit and in truth." -John 4:23, 24
"Therefore I want you to understand that no one speaking by the Spirit of God
ever says 'Jesus be cursed!' and no one
can say 'Jesus is Lord' except by the Holy Spirit." -1 Corinthians 12:3
Test the Spirits
"Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether
they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world. This is how you can recognize the Spirit of God: Every spirit that acknowledges
that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God, but every spirit that does
not acknowledge Jesus is not from God. This is the spirit of the antichrist,
which you have heard is coming and even now is already in the world." -1 John
4:1-3
"Lord, who
may dwell in your sanctuary? Who may live on your holy hill? He
whose walk is blameless and who does what is righteous, who speaks the
truth from his heart
and has no slander on his tongue, who does his neighbor no wrong and casts
no slur on his fellowman, who despises a vile man but honors those who
fear the Lord, who keeps his oath even when it hurts, who lends his money
without usury and does not accept a bribe against the innocent.
He who does these things will never be shaken." -Psalm 15:1-5
"For admission has secretly been gained by some who long ago were designated for
this condemnation, ungodly persons who pervert the grace of our God into
licentiousness [sexually unrestrained] and deny our only Master and Lord, Jesus
Christ." -Jude 1:4
"Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep's clothing but inwardly are
ravenous wolves. You will know them by their fruits. Are grapes gathered from
thorns, or figs from thistles? So, every sound tree bears good fruit, but the
bad tree bears evil fruit. A sound tree cannot bear evil fruit, nor can a bad tree bear good fruit. Every
tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and
thrown into the fire. Thus you will know them by their fruits." -Matthew 7:15-20
"Through him then let us continually offer up a sacrifice of praise to God, that
is, the fruit of the lips that acknowledge [profess] his name [Jesus]." -
Hebrews 13:15
"but be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. ...But
he who looks into the perfect law, the law of liberty, and perseveres, being no
hearer that forgets but a doer that acts, he shall be blessed in his doing."
-James 1:22, 25
"but he who denies me before men will be denied before the angels of God. And
every one who speaks a word against the Son of Man (Jesus) will be forgiven; but
he who blasphemes against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven." -Luke 12:9

Church v. State

"Abandonment of early pacifist principles began at the conversion of
Constantine from paganism to Christianity. He virtually made the church
an agency of Roman State, and abandoning her anti-military convictions."
-C. J. Cadoux, historian
Jesus:
"Whoever finds his [lower] life will lose [the higher life], and whoever
loses his [lower] life on My account will find [the higher life].
-Matthew 10:39 Amplified Bible
“History has shown,
that rather than serving as a force of peace, “religions have served to
foment (instigate) scores of horrendous and bloody wars,’ and religious
leaders who have ordered their followers, in the name of religion, to kill
indiscriminately, ‘have done so by hijacking and distorting the religions
in whose name they speak.’” – Israel Singer; World Jewish Congress,
Report/Fall 2005, page 7
The following is an excerpt of when the true Government and Church of
Jesus Christ was first “hijacked.”
Documentary: The Reconciliation Walk, From Europe to Jerusalem (1999);
Defusing the bitter Legacy of the Crusades... and lessons for today:
“In the 4th century [A.D.], an emperor of the Roman Empire by the
name Constantine reported that one afternoon he fell into a trance and had a
dream or a vision. He saw a great jewel encrusted cross. And he heard
the words “conquer by this.” He awoke from his dream He called
his generals and his goldsmiths together and he ordered them all to take
their ceremonial spears and to make crosses of them and then to go out to
battle with this cross at the head. Of course, in one day
he
completely subverted the meaning of the cross. But he went on from
there with his empire to seduce the "church" with power. The one thing that
persecution and even martyrdom that had been the mark of the Church since
its inception was unable to do, he did with power. The laws which the State
used to persecute Christianity were now used by the “church” to persecute
all others. And so the stage was set for on going centuries of abusive
power by something called the “church”. From then on the virus of human
power has affected the Church [of Yeshua/ Christ Jesus].
But
today it seems that somehow God, by His Spirit, is drawing millions people
back to centrality of Jesus Christ. His example, and his teachings.”

Across the first 1,000 years
of Christendom the principal church was the Roman Catholic Church; for the
first 1,500 years, up to the time of the Protestant
Reformation, the Western world was almost solidly Roman Catholic. -Handbook
of Denominations, Frank S. Mead
The late Pope John
Paul II " loathed totalitarianism- 'substitute religion.'" -Vermont Rutland Herald,

Roman culture was not neutral with respect
to the announcement of God’s reign in Christ. The Gospel of the kingdom is not
just about a gift. It is about a change of allegiance. The declaration “Jesus
is Lord” was understandably viewed as subversive and a threat to everything
the Romans held dear. That’s why Christians had to die. That's why tyrants
such as Stalin and Mao tried to stamp out the Church. -The Threat of Jesus, Rev. Robert Lynn.
The Greek god Zeus whose origins as a sky
god on the Russian steppes (vast treeless plain) to his powerful influence on
Greek and Roman civilization was eclipsed (a loss in splendor, status,
reputation) by the rise and spread of Christianity. -Zeus, by Tom Stone.
The
Christian’s primary allegiance is always to Jesus Christ. Christians proclaim
Him Lord, recognize Him as their legitimate King, and live as citizens of His
kingdom first and foremost. The demands of human government are always secondary
to the demands of Christ and His Kingdom—as the lives of countless martyrs and
the persecuted church past and present attest.
