(Y'SHUA)
YESHUA is the Hebrew name of the MESSIAH, the SON of GOD, the SAVIOR of the
world. Translated as Jesus in the English Bible, YESHUA is the Name above
every name (Philippians 2:9-11) and means "Salvation Now!"
Jesus was Jewish. His disciples were
Jewish. In the prevailing Christian view, the Bible was written by forty
authors. Of these, thirty-nine were Jewish. The fortieth, Luke, was likely a
convert to Judaism. None of the earliest Christians believed that they were
starting a new religion. They merely sought to spread the news that Jewish
prophecy had been fulfilled by the arrival of the Jewish Messiah.

"In a true sense, Judaism is the Mother faith of Christianity. ... A new
day is dawning in the relations between
Christians and Jews. And one of the most fruitful areas for exploration of
common beliefs and hopes, religious ideals and aspirations of Judaism and
Christianity, is surely that which is now often covered by the term, "the
Judaeo-Christian tradition." -Basic Christian Beliefs, Frederick C. Grant,

Journalist and author Zev Chafets offers a Jewish perspective on the growing
bond between Israel and evangelical Christians. Rabbi Eckstein says the book
builds “a strong case for the alliance between Christians and Jews,” and
praises it for reaffirming that “the overwhelming majority of
evangelical Christians have a pure heart and no hidden agendas when it comes
to support for Israel.” You’ll enjoy the author’s careful and well-written
analysis of the growing relationship of cooperation and mutual respect
between Jews and Christians—a bridge that Rabbi Eckstein has played a
leading role in forging for the past quarter century!

Dear Friends of CJUI (Christians & Jews United for Israel),
The following is the text of our incoming President Rev Fumio
Taku's personal testimony and message he gave on "The legitimacy
of two-state solutions for Israel and the Arab Palestinians".
[From CJUI's August 25th meeting at Temple Emeth, Chestnut Hill,
MA.]
Fumio shares (1) his early years in Japan and how he has come to
love Israel as he became a Christian, (2) his life principles that
guide his convictions and actions in support of Israel
and
Judeo-Christian values in America, and (3) reasons why he believes
neither two-state solutions nor any curtailment of Jewish
settlements in Jerusalem, Judea and Samaria would succeed.

“But
you have come to Mount Zion to the heavenly Jerusalem, the city of the
living
God. You have come to thousands upon thousands of angels in joyful assembly,
to the
church of the firstborn, whose names are written in heaven. You have come to
God, the
judge of all men, to the spirits of righteous men made perfect, to Jesus
[Yeshua] the mediator of
a new covenant, and to the sprinkled blood that speaks a better word than
the blood of
Abel. See to it that you do not refuse him who speaks. ..." -Hebrews
12:22-25
“Rather than worrying who needs to be converted to get into heaven,
Christians and Jews should join together to create heaven here on earth.”

"The
Bible commands us to pray for the peace of Jerusalem (Psalm 122:6), to speak
out for Zion’s sake (Isaiah 62:1), to be watchmen on the walls of Jerusalem
(Isaiah 62:6) and to bless the Jewish people (Genesis 12:3). These and so
many other verses of the Bible have one overriding message-- as Christians
we have a Biblical obligation to defend Israel and the Jewish people in
their time of need."
