Bob Mumford said recently that "agape is the spinal cord of the Body of Christ," meaning the Church is not an institution, it is alive and a person with hands and feet. It is behavioral. It is an action. We have disregarded the commandment to love, replacing it with religion and legalism. Religion and legalism do not change hearts, but promote activities and performance. I remember that song, "What's Love Got to Do With It?"

How about EVERYTHING God does not use doctrine for determining unity, but, rather, by individual love for Christ lived out in daily living!

One Body, Many Parts

It is written: "The body is a unit, though it is made up of many parts; and though all its parts are many, they form one body.  So it is with Christ.  For we were all baptized by one Spirit into one body- whether Jews or Greeks, slave or free- and we were all given one Spirit to drink. ... there should be no schism in the body, but that its parts should have the same care for another." -1 Corinthians 12: 12, 13, 25 

Exhortation: "No Human being--even churchgoers and ministers and priests-- have been granted the right to specify that certain humans are "qualified" to be claimed by God. ... There is a Spiritual Nation, governed by God Himself. This spiritual nation exists both now, in this world, and in the heavenly realm, and the life to come. ... The earthly geographical location, and the racial origin of the inhabitants of God's spiritual nation do not matter at all.  "Membership" in a specific denominational church does not open the gate to this nation. Humanly will and effort do not bring about admission into God's Spiritual Nation.

GOOD NEWS! Jesus says: "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me (Jesus)"... "Jesus has the words of eternal life." John 14:6;, 6:68, 69. Jesus requires all persons to have a personal relationship and walk with him as one who will give account for his life.

I am praying that Churches increase in wisdom and stature (Luke 2:52) and increase in unity on "meat" issues (1Cor.3:2; Hebrews 5:12-14). May you not be found among those who "[you] will be ever hearing but never understanding; [you] will be ever seeing but never perceiving." For this people's heart has become calloused; they hardly hear with their ears, and they have closed their eyes. Otherwise they might see with their eyes, hear with their ears, understand with their hearts and turn, and I would heal them." -Acts 28:26-27 [Isaiah 6:9,10]

A desperate and sincere plea: Belonging to an established Church and Creed is commonly a stumbling block for the lost, and surely is not Biblical in order for one to be saved, or to impact the world for Jesus. Infighting between Believers must cease; a house divided cannot stand! Jesus is unity- the world (un-believers) will know we belong to Him by our love for one another. Doctrinal "error" is a critical divide and must be addressed; however, it must be settled through prayer and the Holy Spirit who leads each follower into all Truth. Unless God builds the house, its builders build in vain. So many don't realize being born anew (again) is just the threshold into God's kingdom. All believers must desire to grow daily in unfailing love for all people (enemies included) through God's grace, faith, power, and Spirit. Many a Church has empty pews due to the fact that traditions of men have become substitute for personal obedience to God. Be doers of the Word not hearers only lest you deceive yourselves (James 1:22). The Church is not entertainment, but a place of fellowship, inspiration, and prayer! Each person must develop a worldview and have a full knowledge of the Truth to defeat sin and evil (Satan). Thomas Millington, Ambassador II Cor.5:20, Ambassador to Jerusalem No, I'm not a legalist; however, it may be useful to know that the law profession acknowledges "Church", "Religion", "Religious freedom" and "deprogramming" by these legal definitions (Black's Law Dictionary, 6th Edition): Church. In its most general sense, the religious society founded and established by Jesus Christ, to receive, preserve, and propagate His doctrines and ordinances.  It may also mean a body of communicants gathered into church order; body or community of Christians, united under one form of government by the profession of the same faith and the observance of the same ritual and ceremonies; place where persons regularly assemble for worship; congregation; organization for religious purposes; religious society or body; the clergy or officialdom of a religious body.

Religion. Man's relationship to Divinity, to reverence, worship, obedience, and submission to mandates and precepts of supernatural or superior beings.....Bond uniting man to God, and a virtue (moral excellence) whose purpose is to render God worship due him as source of all being and principle of all government of things.

Religious freedom.  Within Constitution (First Amendment) embraces not only the right to worship God according to the dictates of one's conscience, but also the right to do, or forbear to do, any act, for conscience sake, the doing or forbearing of which is not inimical [unfriendly, harmful, hostile] to the peace, good order, and morals of society.

Deprogramming- as the term has become known, is the process whereby individuals who are members of certain religious groups are subjected to a scheme of brain -washing or mind control in an attempt to dissuade them of their religious beliefs.  Baer v. Baer, D.C.Cal., 450 F.Supp. 481, 485  [Brothers and Sisters in Christ: take this one seriously! Never deny Him or His precious name!  See Matthew 10:33]
