Jerusalem is Declared as the Official Capital of Israel in January 1950 Former Prime Minister Ehud Olmert: "Deep down the international community knows the truth. That no other people can claim Jerusalem but the Jews. That no other people have a right, an historical right, to consider Jerusalem as their Capital, but the Jewish people. And there is one reason why the Palestinians want Jerusalem to be their Capital -it's not because of its importance to the Palestinian history which never existed in this city, it is not because they have a big crowd in Jerusalem which is important for their Palestinian ethos.
