"... I am poor and naked, but I am the chief of the nation. We do not

us no good. We could not take them with us to the other world. We do
not want riches. We want peace and love". -Red Cloud, Sioux Chief; late

Maka kin Wowahwa Un Kte-
Translated from the Lakota Language to mean
"Peace on Earth"
"Humankind has not woven the
web of life. We are but one thread within it. Whatever we do to
the web, we do to ourselves. All things are bound together. All
things connect." - Chief Seattle, Suquuamish Tribe (1854).
"we-cho-nee" Lakota/Sioux language
meaning "Life"
Among the friends and staff of Wiconi
International, our hope is to inspire in people a vision that the
possibility exists to experience genuine hope and confidence for a better
life in our broken world. As we seek to live and walk among the people “in a
good way” by following the ways of Jesus-- affirming, respecting and
embracing the God-given cultural realities of Native/Indigenous people, not
rejecting or demonizing them, we believe we will bring words of hope and
life!

Five Hundred Years of Injustice
The government tries to "Americanize the
Indians- "The Indians, the first Americans, had once claimed all the North
American continent as their own. By 1890 their conquerors had stripped
them of most of their land and their freedom. They had also confined
the Indians to reservations."

The Interior,
one of fifteen members of the Cabinet of the United States (Executive
Department), "Promotes the sound use of natural and cultural resources;
encourages and conducts scientific, especially environmental, research;
works to protect the rights and improve the quality of life of the Native
American communities." -The Book of Rule, How The World is Governed,
DK
Definition
Oxymoron "A figure of speech in which contradictory ideas, etc. are
combined" -Webster's New World Dictionary, 1990
"Imperialism refers to the practice of forming and
maintaining as empire through military, political, or economic conquest.
... Although our nation was founded on the principles of life, liberty,
and the pursuit of happiness, the story of how Native Americans were
relentlessly forced to abandoned their homes and lands and move into
Indian territories to make room for American states is a story of
arrogance, greed, and raw military power. ... We have violated over three
hundred treaties which we signed protecting the rights of American
Indians." Secession, Thomas H. Naylor

Israelis remind US
of its land-grabbing past
A group of Israelis on Wednesday protested US President Barack
Obama's demand for a Jewish settlement freeze by dressing up as
Native Americans outside the US Embassy in Tel Aviv.
The protestors noted that not so long ago, the US seized land
it has no prior connection to in order to expand its borders,
while Obama is denying Jews the right to live on lands that form
the very cradle of their civilization and faith.
To demonstrate the absurdity of Obama's position, the
protestors carried signs insisting that the US surrender lands it
stole from the Native Americans. They read:
"Three countries for three races"
"America, we understand you – understand us, too"
"Freeze building west of the Atlantic Ocean. Red-skinned American
within 1492 border"
Organizers told Ynet they were unable to obtain a permit to
hold a larger demonstration, but that many tourists and passersby
saw what they were doing and joined in the protest.

Defusing the bitter Legacy of the Crusades... and lessons for today:
“In the 4th century [A.D.], an emperor of the Roman Empire by the
name Constantine reported that one afternoon he fell into a trance and had a
dream or a vision. He saw a great jewel encrusted cross. And he heard the
words “conquer by this.” He awoke from his dream He called
his generals and his goldsmiths together and he ordered them all to take
their ceremonial spears and to make crosses of them and then to go out to
battle with this cross at the head. Of course, in one day he
completely subverted the meaning of the cross. But he went on from
there with his empire to seduce the "church" with power. The one thing that
persecution and even martyrdom that had been the mark of the Church since
its inception was unable to do, he did with power. The laws which the State
used to persecute Christianity were now used by the “church” to persecute
all others. And so the stage was set for on going centuries of abusive
power by something called the “church”. From then on the virus of human
power has affected the Church [of Yeshua/ Christ Jesus]. But
today it seems that somehow God, by His Spirit, is drawing millions people
back to centrality of Jesus Christ. His example, and his teachings.”

Antichrist Defined
“History has shown,
that rather than serving as a force of peace, “religions have served to
foment (instigate) scores of horrendous and bloody wars,’ and religious
leaders who have ordered their followers, in the name of religion, to kill
indiscriminately, ‘have done so by hijacking and distorting the religions
in whose name they speak.’” – Israel Singer; World Jewish Congress,

The Algonquin
Wabanaki Sovereign Nation's summer activities of 2003 included a sacred peace
pipe ceremony in Newport, Vermont. Present was the AWSN Council members,
special friends, and Hon. Dr. Pierre Fournier, H. E. Ambassador At
Large for Indian Peoples in Americas. Dr. Fournier was the last
living member of the League of Nations [1920-1946] which preceded the United
Nations. (Pierre Fournier passed away in 2006.) Thomas Millington,
Ambassador partook of this sacred peace ceremony. In conversation
prior to the ceremony, it was made known to Dr. Fournier that I, Tom,
was a Christian. Despite the fact that Dr. Fournier's
grandfather was killed by a "Christian", the ceremony came to pass for
good! (Note- the word Christian is in quotations imputing
that it was not a true Christian walking in the love of Christ Jesus,
but instead a misguided person.

Indian Prayer
Oh father, whose voice I
hear in the winds and whose breath gives life to all the world, hear me.
I am a man before you, one of your many children. I am small and weak.
I need your strength and wisdom. Let me walk in beauty, and make my
eyes behold the red and purple sunset. Make my hands respect the things you
have made. My ears sharp to hear your voice. Make me wise, so
that I may know the things you have taught my people, the lessons you have
hidden in every leaf and rock. I seek strength, father- not to be superior
to my brothers, but to be able to fight my greatest enemy, myself.
Make me ever ready to come to you with clean hands and straight eye so that
when life fades as the fading sunset, my spirit may come to you without
shame. -Tom Whitecloud

The following are excerpts taken from a (retired) Otter Valley High
School (Vermont) book entitled Rise of the American Nation:
The whole world owes much to the Indians and their cultures. In
Agriculture alone the Indians' contributions have been priceless.
The Native American Indians had learned to live in harmony with their
environment. They lived on and with the land without polluting it and
without exhausting its resources. They had, as John Collier expressed
it in his book Indians of the Americas, a "reverence and passion for the
earth and its web of life."
The colonists and the Indians also had different ideas about land and
property. The colonists acquired Indian lands by purchase, by treaty,
and, at times, by fraud and by force.
The Georgia legislature passed a law stating that Cherokee laws and
treaty rights were null and void- that is, of no effect.
Such colonists believed that it was important to draw them away from
their own religious beliefs and convert them to Christianity.
Indian policy. When (President) Jackson left the White House, the first
major Indian removals had been largely carried out.... "TRAIL OF TEARS".
From the day the Europeans first invaded their land, the American
Indians were forced to battle for sheer survival. A century ago they
made their last desperate stand against the United States Army on the
Great Plans.
Indians. The medals-given on behalf of presidents of the United States and
emblazoned with the message "Peace and Friendship"- are also testimony to the promises
to the tribes that were broken. "It might have been peace and
friendship for a while," Hoptowit said. "Then all the cheating and lying
began." ... But they were nothing less than tokens of lies,"
said
Jeff Van Pelt. -Rutland Herald, Sunday July 20, 2003
The movie 'I Will Fight No More Forever' is a reenactment accurately
portraying the plight of the Nez Perce in their 1700 mile, 108 day
fighting retreat.
The same evil mentality is present today (year 2010) in Vermont as it
was in 1725... As an Ambassador for Christ, I expose corruption in
governments. Take for instance Brattleboro, Vermont that was so named
by King George II after William Brattle Jr. who was a colonel in the
King's militia, a lawyer, legislator, doctor, and a preacher. Let's get
it straight! No one preaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ could be
killing and "loving thy neighbor as thyself" simultaneously.
Legislating and a Lawyer too?- ( read woe in Luke 11:46, 52) when the
Holy Scriptures declare that there is only One Lawgiver and One Judge
(Christ Jesus). These people are NOT read, and by their actions bear
false witness to the teachings of Christ Jesus. This is true to the
definition of a hypocrite. To top it off on this example, William
Brattle Jr. never even set foot in the Town named after him!
"When the white man stops
insisting that the Indian adhere to his ways and allows us to live as
Indians, the Indian problem will be solved." -John Stevens, Passamaquoddy
Tribal Governor
"The Indians survived our
open intention of wiping them out, and since the tide turned they have even
weathered our good intentions toward them, which can be much more deadly."
-John Steinbeck, from America and Americans
An article entitled "In the Beginning: The
First Stars" it made clear that "The full moon on March 18
was called the Sap Moon by Vermont's first inhabitants, the Abenaki." Source: Addison Eagle March 6-12, page 11;Written by
Louis Varricchio- "He was a NASA science writer and freelance science
reporter for Public Radio International"
More to come. The "authorities" at the Capital
of the State of Vermont continue to oppress the natives. State of Vermont is making it
impossible for natives to put "Native" labels on their handiwork for market.
Sigh!

Restoration and Healing
TWO
WOLVES
One evening an old Cherokee told his grandson about a battle that goes on
inside people.
He
said, "My son, the battle is between two wolves inside us all.
"One is Evil - It is anger, envy, jealousy, sorrow, regret, greed,
arrogance, self-pity,
guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, and ego.
"The other is Good - It is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility,
kindness, benevolence,
empathy, generosity, truth, compassion and faith."
The grandson thought about it for a minute and then asked his grandfather:
"Which wolf wins?"
The old Cherokee simply replied, "The one you feed."
